Technical Engineer

What is it?

This is an outstanding opportunity for an enthusiastic and energetic Safety Technician. This role will involve performing planned preventative maintenance, recertification and remedial repair works to our existing and new service client base throughout the UK and will involve additional training on our Group company products and services.

Poised for further growth, we have reached an exciting phase in our development and are now looking to strengthen our highly motivated team by appointing  suitably experienced Safety Technicians.

What does this role entail?

  • Carry out Installation works on our Fall Protection and Safe Access solutions.
  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance / recertification / remedial repair works on our existing and new service client sites.
  • Ensure all works are completed in accordance with our Environmental, Health, Safety and Quality policies.
  • Complete the onsite Planned Preventative Maintenance / Recertification works to ensure all systems are compliant with current Codes of Practice and relevant legislation.
  • Complete site inspection and audit reports, clearly identifying non-compliant installations and provide accurate details to facilitate client reports.
  • Complete all site visits in accordance with planned schedules.
  • Represent the company in a professional manner at all times and build excellent client relationships.
  • Ensure excellent communication with our clients and clearly demonstrate your knowledge in delivering a quality of service at all times.
  • This role will involve additional training on our Group company products, Fall Protection and Safe Access Solutions systems.
  • This role will require frequent travel throughout the UK.

Technical Sales Engineer

Reporting To: General Manager
Location: Glasgow

Job Specification:

This is a key role within APS and the Kee Safety UK region. The medium term plan places a clear emphasis on the development of our fall protection solutions and services sales in order to develop significant revenue growth on all of our products. The responsibility for sales forecasting and plan execution are key aspects of this role, as is the development and mentoring of the sales team.

We expect you to work closely with the APS’ General Manager making a direct contribution to our strategic development in terms of new business and routes to market. You must also work closely with the Contracts Department to ensure the effective planning and utilisation of resources.

Your Role will focus on 4 key areas:

Delivery of sales targets on a monthly, quarterly & annual basis

Generation of a safety solutions business

Building repeat customer relationships

Focusing on the strategic direction of the business for the short & medium term

We expect you to work closely with the General Manager, making a direct contribution to our strategic development in terms of business development.

Your Key Responsibilities will include:

Delivery of personal monthly sales target

Key account management and sector targeting to include customer visits and on-site meetings

Lead by example with site surveys and quotations as & when required in order to achieve individual sales target

The development and collation of all required weekly/monthly sales data, identifying issues and planned resolution

Motivating, coaching, inspiring and ensuring the effective provision of required sales training for all members of the team

Follow processes to control, manage and continually improve margins and drive down costs

Operate in accordance with Group Factored Product Approval guidelines

Development of fall protection solution type business with a focus on new business generation using proven GDM techniques

Successful launch of all new products

Give support to the Contracts Manager & General Manager

Ensuring a full understanding of competitor activity including strengths & weaknesses

The development of our products in line with the Brand Pyramid

All other tasks within the Sales Development/Management area as requested by the General Manager.
